Old Dan Tucker (Free Download)
This classic folk song is a favorite in my classroom and really gets my students energized. Best suited for 3rd-5th grade, this song can be used with movements to create a high-energy mini performance.
Teaching Sequence:
Teach Refrain by having the students echo one line at a time then chunk two or more lines together.
Teach the first verse using call and response
Link the first verse and the refrain
Teach the second and third verse, linking them to the refrain.
